Take the fourth exit into Church Road, passing the Wokingham and Bracknell College on your left. Take the next turn left, then left again into Tytherton. The bowling green is at the end of this short road. BurghfieldNote this is their new location from 2014 Address: James Lane, Burghfield RG30 3RS Telephone: None The club is now located within the Burghfield Community Sports Association site and you are likely to see signs to this rather than the bowls club itself. There is ample parking at the site and access to the green is past the front of the main building to the patio beyond from which there is a pathway to the green via a pedestrian gate. Currently the club does not have its own clubhouse and it uses the changing rooms and lounge bar of the BCSA building. Route A This requires you getting to A33 either via M4 or you can follow the route to Three Mile Cross bowling club (see entry below).
After making turn off A33 at traffic lights,
turn left after 200 yards at roundabout towards Mortimer/Grazeley. Take
the first right hand turn, signposted to Grazeley Green and Burghfield. After about one mile and immediately after passing under railway bridge turn left.(still signposted to Grazeley Green and Burghfield). Take the second right into James Lane (signposted "Burghfield Village/Theale") . Road bears sharp left after a short while and the club entrance is then on your right after a few hundred yards. Route B M4 west to
Jct 12. Take 1st exit left, A4 towards Theale. Go straight over 1st roundabout and then take the slip road left signposted to the station. Go past station and keep on Station Road until you get to Sheffield Bottom. At the roundabout here turn left along Deans Copse Road. Follow this until come to T junction where you turn right. Follow this road through the village until you come to The Rose Lawn hotel on your left. Turn left into James Lane just after this. Continue along the lane for about a mile until just after the first turning on your left you will find the club entrance on the left BurnhamAddress: Stomp Road, Burnham, Nr Slough, SL1 7NA. Telephone: 01628 664616 Take the M4 east to Junction 7, turn left onto A4 (i.e. heading abck to Maidenhead). Turn right at first set of traffic lights into Huntercombe Lane North. Pass under railway bridge (light controlled) and at the min-roundabout turn left into Stomp Road. The entrance to the bowling green is a short way along on the right, about 10 yards past the first road on the right (Opendale Road). Note the entrance is just a drive and has no sign to the club outside it; all that is visible is a children's play area alongside.

You can also park in the adult education centre car park in France Hill Drive if you have a slip (see below) Take road (A321) out of Wokingham heading for the large M&S/Tescos at the Meadows Camberley. After passing this turn left onto the A30 at the large roundabout. After about 1/2 mile go straight on at lights with junction of Frimley Road (note there a a couple of lights controlled pedestrian crossings on A30 as well). Then after about another 400 yards turn right into The Avenue (where road has a right turn filter lane - no lights though). Take 2nd left off The Avenue (after about 200 yards - note you may miss seeing the first turn left just after you turn onto The Avenue!) into Southwell Park Road. Green is in public park on your left a few yards along. Park where you can on the streets around, or if you take first right off Southwell Park Road into France Hill Drive then you can park (legally) in the car park of the Adult education centre about 30 yards on your right along this road. Parking arrangements taken from their website We have a parking arrangement with the Adult Education Centre which is located 30yds on the right down France Hill Drive. France Hill Drive is off Southwell Park Road almost opposite the Recreation Ground gate. They allow us to park in their car park provided the cars display a parking permit slip, The permit slips can be obtained from the clubhouse on the day of the match. The Adult Education Centre car park consists of three parking areas. We find the first area on the right almost always has available parking spaces. Parking in Southwell Park Road has a two hour limit but is free after 6pm weekdays and Saturdays and is free all day Sundays. Free parking is available in The Avenue at the east end of Southwell Park Road and down France Hill Drive if you can find a vacant slot. CavershamAddress: Albert Road, Caversham, Reading, RG4 7PL. Telephone: 0118 9461861 There are 2 alternative routes; 1. Via Reading. Take the A329 to Reading and then on to Caversham via the inner distribution road. Go over Caversham Bridge. Turn left at the traffic lights into Woodcote Road. Continue for approximately 1 mile until you reach a pronounced left-hand bend and then turn right into Richmond Road. Take the fist right into Albert Road. Continue for 50 yards until your see a recreation park, Albert Park, on your right (just before Orwell Close on your left). The bowling green is in the park. Car parking is provided immediately inside the gate. Entrance to the green is about 100 yards along the path. 2. Via Sonning. Take the A321 out of Wokingham to Twyford. Turn left at the lights in centre of Twyford. Cross over A4 at the roundabout and go through Sonning (over the bridge and past The Mill at Sonning). Go straight across small roundabout just after the Horn restaurant and after about half a mile turn left at next roundabout onto A4155 towards Reading. After about 400 yards turn right at next set of traffic lights into Caversham Park Road. Continue to end of this road and turn left and then immediately left again to join the B481 (Peppard Road) going back towards Reading. Continue along this road and straight across 1st mini-roundabout. At next roundabout turn right into Evesham Road and then 2nd left into Rotherfield way. Continue down the hill and go straight over mini-roundabout at the bottom (into Oakley Road). Go along until come to cross roads (give way) and go straight over. After 200 yards, at T junction, turn right into Albert Road. Entrance to Albert Park and bowling green is about 500 yards along on your left (immediately after Orwell Close on your right). Car parking is provided immediately inside the gate. Entrance to the green is about 100 yards along the path. CippenhamAddress: Station Road, Cippenham, Slough. Telephone: 01628 604445 Take the M4 east to Junction 7, Slough West. Leave the motorway and at the first roundabout take the A4 towards Slough. At the second set of traffic lights, turn left into Station Road. About 50 yards along there is a park on your right (before you reach a railway bridge). After half mile go across traffic lights. Keep on this road until go through outskirts of Crowthorne town centre and at mini-roundabout turn right onto High St. After several hundred yards turn left into Wellington Raod (immedaitely after "That's Nice" health food shop on your left). RBL is a short way along on your left opposite the park. DesboroughAddress; 36 York Road, Maidenhead SL6 1SF Telephone; 01628 629403Distance; 16 miles, 30 minutes approximately Parking: limited but is council car park opposite At junction 8-9 of M4, take the A404(M)/A308(M) exit to High Wycombe/Maidenhead. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A308(M) heading to Maidenhead (Central). At the next roundabout#, take the 3rd exit onto A308/Windsor Rd heading to Windsor. After 1/2 mile turn left at B3028/Upper Bray Rd (this is about 200 yards before you pass back under M4). Continue to follow B3028 through Bray. On leaving Bray continue on main road for a while (1/2 mile) until you pass over a pedestrian crossing then take the next left into Forlease Rd at junction with Oldlease Road (note large roadside chevrons pointing right here - you turn left). Follow this road and pass under high rail bridge and at the first mini-roundabout, turn left into York Rd. Destination is on the left about 200 yards along. Note that you can see no sign you've arrived from the car but it is opposite the car park visible on the right. Do not go into one way bit of York Road as you have passed it! Parking is limited and narrow in the club. An alternative is the car park opposite; free on Sundays and evenings (after 6pm) [at time of writing]. Continue on this road, past the Crowthorne turning, and a mile or so later look out for a light-controlled school crossing. Just beyond, at the bottom of a hill, the road bends to the left. On this bend, turn right towards Yately. At the t-junction in Yateley, turn left onto B3272 and then immediately right up Cricket Hill. Go straight over the A30 and follow the B3013 to Fleet. Continue straight on through the town centre until you reach a major crossroads. Continue straight on. The club is 200 yards along this road, on the left. Great HollandsAddress: Recreation Ground, South Road, Nine Mile Ride, Bracknell, RG40 3EE. Telephone: 01344 300015 Take the Easthampstead Road over the Star Lane level crossing and continue to the T-junction (at the pub) where you bear right. Continue until you reach the first roundabout at the Nine Mile Ride junction. Turn left and continue along this road for 0.7 miles (going straight over the roundabout for the TRL) until you see a Easthampstead Crematorium/Downshire Golf Club sign. Turn left here (it's the first left since the TRL roundabout) and the bowls club and adjacent car park are 400 yards along on the right. Henley-on-ThamesAddress: Mill Meadows, Meadow Road, Henley-on-Thames, RG9 1BE. Telephone: 01491 579271 Take the A321 to Henley-on-Thames. As you enter Henley, cross over the bridge and at the lights at the far end of the bridge turn left to follow the river until the road bears right, away from the river. Take the first turning left (Meadow Road) towards the public car park. The bowling green, including a small 'club only' parking area, is a short way along on the left. If parking in the club's parking area then you must obtain from the club a parking permit and display it in your car.
HurstAddress: The Castle Inn, Church Hill, Hurst. Telephone: None Take the A329 towards Reading. At Winnersh crossroads, turn right. Continue along this road until there are no houses, passing a left turn to Woodley en route. Soon after, on a blind bend, bear right and go up the hill towards Hurst. Soon after passing the church on your left you will see The Castle public house. Turn right into the pub car park. The green is alongside the car park. Alternatively from the club go up Holt Lane and take A321 Twyford Road to Hurst. As you enter Hurst take first left into Orchard Road (i.e about half mile after 30mph sign) and then left again at the end of this road. The road goes up a small hill and the club and The Castle are on your left; about 300 yards from end of Orchard Road. Island BohemianAddress: De Montford Island, Brigham Road, Reading, RG1 8DG. Telephone: 0118 9576593 Take the A329 to Reading and follow the inner distribution road towards Caversham. After passing under the railway bridge, turn left at the roundabout (still heading for Caversham - now on A4155) and take first right into Brigham Road. Club has a limited cark park (15 cars) about 50 yards along on the left. Alternatively park in roads nearby – but beware parking restrictions. The club says that due to limited parking on south side many visitors cross over the river and park in Wolsey Road (after crossing bridge bear right into Church Street and bear right again into Gosbrook Road – Wolsey Road is 20 yards on the right). There is a ferry across to the island (from both banks). Maiden ErleghAddress: Beech Lane, Earley, Reading, RG6 2PT. Telephone: 0118 9872172 If travelling during rush hour the quickest route is to use Mill Lane (i.e. to go past Sindlesham Mill). After the mill go straight across the roundabout (over B3270 Lower Earley Way) into Rushey Way. Keep on Rushey Way for about one mile going over 3 mini-roundabouts. Then at a larger roundabout (large Thames Valley Police building on the left), turn right into Beech Lane. The bowls club (also Whiteknights indoor club, look out for the sign) is at the far end of this road on the right-hand side. The shortest route (from central Wokingham) is to go along the A329 until the traffic lights at the Three Tuns. Turn left into Wilderness Road at these lights. At the 3rd mini-roundabout turn left into Beech lane and the club entrance is about 200 yards on your left. Maidenhead ThicketAddress: The Shire Horse Centre, Bath Road, Maidenhead, SL6 3QD. Telephone: 01628 825864 Take the A321 to Twyford and then take the A4 towards Maidenhead. After passing Knowle Hill and Burchett's Green mini roundabout, the bowling green is on the right-hand side behind the pub and Shire Horse Centre .

About 1 mile after passing over the A404M (and minding speed cameras!) turn left at the (2nd ?) mini-roundabout into Courthouse Road (just after passing playing fields on your left). Continue for about 1 mile along Courthouse Road, going straight across at first crossroads (with stop sign) until Oaken Grove on the left (at next crossroads). Go along Oaken Grove for about 400 yards and enter recreation park through iron gates on your left. Car parking is then on your left. The club is a short walk (50 yards) away, ahead along path and on your right. Palmer ParkAddress: Palmer Park, Wokingham Road, Reading, RG6 1LF. Telephone: None Take the A329 towards Reading. About one mile beyond Earley crossroads, and beyond the shops on your right, you will see Palmer Park. The entrance gate is at the far end of the park. Once inside the park, the bowling green is on your left, behind a tall hedge. Prospect ParkAddress: Prospect Park, Honey End Lane, Reading. Telephone: 0118 9595064. Take the A329 to Reading and join the A4 at Cemetery Junction. Go straight on across all junctions until reaching the Bath Rd T-junction (with traffic lights). Turn left into Bath Rd. Go straight across first small roundabout and the following set of lights. Prospect Park is on the right and the bowling green is in the centre of the Park. Drive past the park and turn right into Honey End Lane at the mini-roundabout. On the right is a short dead-end road. Park in this road and follow footpath at the end into the park The bowling green entrance is about 100 yards walk along this path. ReadingAddress: Kendrick Road, Reading, RG1 5DW. Telephone: 0118 9873698 Take A329 into Reading going past the multiplex cinema and along Wokingham Road. At the traffic lights at the Three Tuns (i.e. about 200 yds after the 30mph sign) turn left into Wilderness Road and then immediately right at the mini roundabout into Whiteknights Road. After 1/2 mile turn left at the next mini roundabout into Upper Redlands Road. At T-junction at end of this road turn right into Redlands Road and take second left into Morgan Road. At end of Morgan Road the green is facing you (just to the left) on the far side of Kendrick Road. Parking Arrangements at Reading Bowling Club 2017 Royal HouseholdAddress: Frogmore, Windsor Castle. Telephone: 01753 850961 Take the A329 to Ascot and at the roundabout immediately before the racecourse take the left turn heading for Windsor on the A332 (the racecourse will then be alongside you on your right). After going about half a mile go straight over the small 'double' roundabout. At the next roundabout (which is an elongated one with woods in the middle) keep in the right hand lane and take the second exit: driving through Windsor Great Park. On exiting the park, at the large roundabout in about 1/4 mile turn right (3rd exit) taking the A308 to Old Windsor and Staines. After about 100 yards drive over the Long Walk. The entrance to the grounds containing the bowling green is the first entrance about a quarter of a mile along on the left and signposted "Shaw Farm Gate". Inside is a small lodge and a barrier. Car registration numbers and other details have to be advised before the day of the match - otherwise entry will be refused. The security staff will direct you to the green. Continue to the junction with the A4 go straight over the roundabout to Sonning . Go through Sonning, cross the bridge, and at second mini roundabout turn right onto A4155 towards Henley. Go past Shiplake College on the right and at next cross roads turn left, signposted C & E School. The bowling green is on the left behind the Memorial Hall. The car park is just past the Memorial Hall. SunningdaleAddress: Whitmore Lane, Sunningdale, Berkshire, SL5 0NA. Telephone: 01344 872016 Take the A329 to Ascot and continue on this road down the High Street towards Virginia Water. Pass through the centre of Ascot. Continue on towards Virginia Water. After 1.5 miles you pass the junction with the B383 Silwood Road. Continue for another half a mile and then, as the road bears sharp left, take a right turn into Whitmore Lane. The bowling green is about half a mile down this country road on the right hand side. SuttonsAddress: Chalfont Way, Lower Earley, Reading, RG5 5HQ. Telephone: 0118 975 0192 Take the A329 to Loddon Bridge roundabout and bear left heading for Lower Earley. At the next roundabout, turn right into Rushley Way. Go past the Loddon Bridge Leisure Centre and turn right at the roundabout as if heading for the Asda store (i.e. turn right into Chalfont Way). Then after 50 yards go straight over the mini roundabout. The bowling green car park is about 100 yards further along on the left - it has yellow 'height restriction' bars over the entrance; note there is no sign to the club outside! The entrance to the green is up the steps from the car park and through the clubhouse (you need to ring the bell to obtain entrance). Telephone 10635 867044 Distance from WBC: 25 miles, approximate travel time: minutes Go to Junction 12 of M4 and take A4 to Thatcham town centre. Turn right after Park Lane and opposite Green Lane into public car park. The bowling green is at the back of the car park on the left. If possible use the small car park by the clock tower on the left hand side as this is closer to the green. Three Mile CrossAddress: Ford's Forge, Basingstoke Road, Three Mile Cross, RG7 1AT. Telephone: 0118, 9884473 If travelling from the east of Wokingham then it is probably easiest to use the M4. Go to Junction 11 of the M4, then take the A33 to Basingstoke. At the first set of lights take the filter lane and turn left. The bowling club is a short distance along this road on the left immediately opposite a tyre garage on the right hand side. The bowling green is set back from the road and has a narrow entrance that cannot easily be seen since it is behind an industrial-type building (car workshop) with a metal girder over the entrance. There is a white MOT sign at the entrance, as well as a sign for the bowls club If travelling from the clubhouse then take the A329 towards Reading and turn left at the Loddon Bridge roundabout. Keep on this road until the large roundabout just before the old Shire Hall (now Foster Wheeler offices). Take the first left hand exit at this roundabout (signposted A327). Within a few hundred yards keep in right hand lane at first set of lights and then take the right turn at the next set of lights (about 50 yards further on). Follow this road until you come to the small roundabout and turn right. Entrance to TMX is about 80 yards along on your right; entrance has white MOT sign outside and you go down this narrow entrance past the car workshop and into the club grounds. Parking is on the grass behind the green. TilehurstAddress: Wardle Avenue, Tilehurst, RG31 6JR Telephone: 0118 9419970 Take the M4 west to Junction 12. Come off the M4 and turn right taking the A4 Bath Rd back towards Reading. Go over two small/mini roundabouts and at the next traffic lights turn left towards Tilehurst. Follow this road (called Langley Hill) up the hill and straight through Tilehurst village (beware several speed cameras!). Eventually, turn left at traffic lights just past the Total garage into Armour Road. [Note; you'll have crossed 7 mini roundabouts since you joined Langley Hill]. Where the road bears sharp right take the left hand fork and then after about 50 yds turn right into Wardle Avenue (unmade road). The entrance to the bowling green and small car park is on the left. TrenthamAddress: Green Lane, Off Sherwood Rise, Purley-on-Thames, RG8 8EJ. Telephone: 0118 9845832 Shortest Route: (note NOT advisable at peak periods - really only suitable on Sundays).Take the A329 to Reading and join the inner distribution road. Leave the inner distribution road at the Chatham Street roundabout, taking the A329 towards Oxford/Pangbourne - as you come off the slip road take the first left, then right at traffic lights into Oxford Road. Continue on the Oxford road, over the roundabout at Norcott Road. Continue ahead, passing Waitrose and Tilehurst station. Go over the roundabout at Knowsley Road and through the traffic lights at Long Lane. At the next roundabout, turn left onto Sherwood Rise, then turn left into Bowling Green Lane. The bowling green is at the end of the road, on the left. Quickest Route: (note: probably the preferred route at any time save Sundays). Take M4 to Theale exit. Turn left off motorway (ie travelling west) onto A4 and go to Pangbourne (ie right at next roundabout). On arriving in Pangbourne take right at first mini roundabout and then bear right at next mini roundabout (in about 100 yards). Turn right at following roundabout (after about a mile) into Sherwood Rise. Take first left and club is at end of this road on your left. Note this route has several speed cameras in 30mph zones! TwyfordAddress: Wargrave Road, Twyford, RG10 9PG. Telephone: None Take the A321 to Twyford. At the traffic lights go straight across towards Henley (If you want the alternative parking turn left at these lights and first left again. Public pay car park is on your right). The bowling green is immediately past the traffic lights on your right, but turn into the car park just in front of the green - see parking note above. University of ReadingAddress: Earley Gate, Whiteknights Road, Reading, RG6 6AH. Telephone: 0118 9268988 Take the A329 towards Reading. At Earley traffic lights turn left. Shortly after, at the mini roundabout turn right. The Earley Gate of the University is soon after on your left. Take the first turn right immediately once inside the gate (ignore the small sign saying it isn't a through road). The bowling green is at the bottom of this road - with the car park and the club house (which is the university social club) right at the end along a short drive. Note this near parking only has room for 14 cars but, after 5pm, you can use any other car park and there should be ample parking further back along the road. Access to the green is through a small wire gate in the hedge to the right of the clubhouse. Changing facilities are in a gazebo next to the green. It is advisable to turn up dressed for the match. WargraveAddress: Recreation Ground, Recreation Ground, Wargrave, RG10 8BJ. Telephone: None Take the A321 to Twyford. At the traffic lights go straight across towards Henley. At the next roundabout, go straight over the A4 to Wargrave. At the traffic lights in the centre of Wargrave, turn right. Turn left into Victoria Road and then right into Recreation Road. Take the M4 east to Junction 6. Come off the M4 and at the roundabout take the third exit onto the A355, signposted Windsor. Continue ahead onto the A332, entering Windsor. Branch left off this road and at the roundabout take the first exit into Maidenhead Road, signposted Windsor. Follow this along (over traffic lights) until you come to a roundabout. Take first road exit left into Goswell Road (note: the first exit from roundabout is into an office block car park - you want the first road exit left). Go under railway bridge and just after road bears sharp right (becoming Barry Avenue parallel to the River Thames) turn right alongside Brown's Restaurant into the public River Street Car Park. Obtain a public parking token by pressing green button on dispensing machine, pass through barrier and immediately turn right into the club. Park on grass around club. Do NOT park in the public car park. Retain parking token and before leaving club have it validated by Windsor & Eton to permit free parking. Exit after turning right and driving through the public car park. Windsor Great ParkAddress:York Club, Windsor Great Park, Windsor, SL4 2HR. Telephone: None Take the A329 to Ascot and then take the A323 into Windsor Great Park. At the second set of white gates turn right - the gates will either open automatically or be manned by a security officer. Continue on this road and go over the crossroads. You will see a cricket pitch on your left. Just past this is the bowling green, behind a hedge. WoodleyAddress: Woodford Park, Haddon Drive, Woodley, RG5 4LYm Telephone: 0118 9441373 Take the A329 towards Reading and just beyond Loddon Bridge roundabout turn right into Loddon Bndge Road. Follow this road to the Just Tiles roundabout and take the second exit. Shortly afterwards turn left into Haddon Drive. Wood ford Park Recreation Ground is on the left; the bowling green is in the recreation ground. YateleyAddress: Playing Fields, 66 Reading Road, Yately, GU46 7RP. Telephone: 01252 890271 Take the A321 Camberley road and follow this until you come into the outskirts of Sandhurst. As you enter the outskirts (i.e. after the 30mph sign) the road rises slightly and then goes down a small dip. At the foot of this dip, where the road bears sharp left, take the right turn into Yateley Road (signposted to Yateley and the TriLakes Country Park). At T-junction at end of this road, turn right onto Reading Road (B2372). Continue along for a while and go straight over next roundabout. Parking for the club is in public car park, about 150 yards along after this on the left, just past 2nd traffic bollard. Entrance to club is then a short walk along roadside path.
