Getting Started



Wokingham Bowling Club welcomes all new bowlers.

Whether you are an established bowler who has just 
moved to the area, or are someone completely new to bowls, we 
will make you feel very welcome.

We're a very friendly club so feel free to call in at 
any time and someone will be there to show you around.

  NEW BOWLERS 


We open for the 2011 season on 15th April. If you are interested in learning how to play then please get in touch by one of the means
 on the 'contact us' page.
In the meantime the video at this link shows you the basics of the game.


 

TUITION

For inexperienced bowlers we can provide coaching.





     
PLAYING   
Once you've licked the basics you can enjoy the game through;



  • Our Monday and Wednesday afternoon "webber". Here members just turn up and are randomly drawn into teams (usually triples - 3 a side) to play a game.  This is the way all new bowlers get into the game and develop their skill.
  • Our friendly matches against other clubs. As a new bowler you will be encouraged to  take part in these. On average we have 2 games a week.
  • In your 2nd season you can (should) take part in  our club competitions.
  • Also you can  earn a place in one of our many league teams.
  • You can turn up at any time for a "roll up" with the new friends you will have made.
